This scholarship is open to Master’s degree and PhD and it is available in any major. You can study any major in Russia with 100% tuition fee waiver.
The scholarship will cover the following:
- free study at the university (tuition fee)
- monthly living allowance on a monthly basis (determined by the Russian Ministry of Education)
- health insurance on a yearly basis
- accident insurance on a yearly basis

A tuition waiver for the Master degree program is a form of financial aid awarded by an academic institution that covers the cost of attendance, minus any other forms of financial aid received. These tuition waivers may cover all or only part of the cost of attendance. The tuition waiver includes all academic fees such as lab fees and administrative fees. If your tuition has been waived, you do not pay it to GW; rather it is paid directly to the university by another party on your behalf.
Other expenses like flights, visa , accomodation, insurance and food are covered.
Tuition fees for the Russian government scholarship are covered, but you should be aware that the scholarships do not cover costs like health insurance, flights to Russia and back, or visa fees. If you want to live in student accommodation or a hostel you will also have to pay your own rent. The cost of living in Russia is significantly lower than many Western countries though.

- The language of instruction at the higher educational institution where the applicant is enrolled should be English.
- Academic Record – Transcripts or academic certificates regarding previous education must be provided by applicant. It demonstrates that person has enough knowledge to continue studies in Russian higher education institution at the corresponding level (Bachelor, Specialist, Master).
- Motivation Letter – Applicant provides information about his/her study progress, achievements and future professional goals in this letter (1-1,5 pages).
