Sait Admission Requirements

SAIT has a variety of options for students wanting to pursue post-secondary education. Regardless of your background and previous level of study, there are many ways to get started at SAIT. The following information includes general admission requirements, but please contact the program or school directly for more details on specific programs and courses.

Sait Admission Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent with several required courses.

Sait University School of Medicine (SUSOM) has minimum grade requirements for courses in each subject area. This includes the overall GPA (grade point average), cumulative GPA, and the course GPA.

Course Requirements:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • English-Language Arts or Literature and Composition
  • General Psychology or Personality and Development

Alberta Grade 12 credit equivalency

Alberta Grade 12 credit equivalency is required for admission to SAIT. Students who have completed the Alberta Grade 11 course requirements and the corresponding Alberta Grade 12 courses may be granted admission into SAIT. Equivalency credits earned at other institutions are not transferable into SAIT programs.

Students must provide official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended and all required equivalencies will be verified by Student Records upon registration in order to determine eligibility for program registration and graduation

Mature Student Admission

If you are an adult who has completed their high school studies, you may be interested in applying for our Mature Student Admission. This program is designed for individuals who have at least two years of relevant work experience and wish to pursue a college education.

Further Education Admission

You will need a minimum grade of 65% in English, Math and Science. You must also have at least a C average in those subjects. In addition to this, you need to have a 70% average overall for your last two years.

Transfer Credit and Challenge for Credit

Transfer Credits and Challenge for Credit

The Transfer Credit process is a method of gaining credit for courses you have already taken from another institution. The Challenge for Credit allows you to get credit for courses you have not yet taken by taking an examination on the topic or completing a portfolio of work. These are not available for all programs at Sait University, so be sure to check with your program advisor before applying.
