There are lots of scholarship opportunities for international students in Canada.

International students in Canada have lots of scholarship opportunities to choose from. Here are just a few examples:

  • The Undergraduate International Student Awards will award $10,000 per year to an international student in good academic standing who is enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at the University of Toronto. Students who receive this award must be working on their first undergraduate degree and cannot be studying abroad or studying at another university as part of an exchange program during the year they’re applying.
  • The Brock International Prize in Education is given out each year to honor people who have made significant contributions to the field of education and whose work has benefited citizens across the globe. This includes—but isn’t limited to—teachers, principals, professors, government officials, non-profit leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators from both inside and outside the field of education. Candidates for this prize don’t necessarily need any formal training in education or teaching; however, they must demonstrate that their achievements have significantly improved educational opportunities and outcomes for those served by the system they’ve helped create or lead.

Students should also keep an eye out for scholarship opportunities available through their home country’s government as well as private organizations within their home country’s borders. These may offer better funding than what’s available in Canada.
