The Russian Government Scholarship Programme enables talented international students to take courses at Russian state-run universities.

The Russian Government Scholarship Programme enables talented international students to take courses at Russian state-run universities. The scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to postgraduate students and medical interns.

In order to apply for the scholarship, you must be a registered student of one of the Russian universities that is a member of the Russian Government Scholarship Programme. Your home university may nominate you for such a programme.

It should be noted that you need to study at a Russian university for at least one semester in order to get a scholarship under this programme. In addition, only foreign citizens can participate in the scholarship programme (other than citizens of the Russian Federation).

The Scholarship will be available to you if you meet certain specific conditions that must be fulfilled as precisely as possible by you and your host university in Russia in order to maximize your chances of being awarded the scholarship.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:

  • be an international student from a country other than Russia
  • intend to study in Russia
  • be looking to study at a Russian state university (which is not the same as a state-funded university)
  • have been accepted by the People’s Friendship University of Russia, which is located in Moscow and has several different faculties of learning including the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs and the Faculty of Physical Science.
