Türkiye Scholarships

The Turkish government’s scholarship program is designed to support students of all nationalities hoping to study at Turkey’s universities. The program offers funds for tuition, airfare, housing and living expenses in an effort to provide students with the opportunity to experience the Turkish educational system.

To apply for the Türkiye Scholarships, visit https://turkiyeburslari.gov.tr and fill out your information on their application form by June 30, 2017.

Nesin Foundation Scholarship Programmes

This scholarship program is called the Nesin Foundation Scholarship Programmes, and it offers financial aid to international students who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or PhD degrees in Turkey. The deadline for this scholarship is May 31st of each year.

Eligibility requirements:

• You must be an international student (i.e., non-Turkish).
• You must be a high school student if you are applying for an undergraduate degree scholarship; a university student if you are applying for a graduate degree scholarship; or a master’s student if you are applying for a PhD degree scholarship.
• You must live in either Turkey, Europe (excluding the UK), the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. If you do not meet these conditions but live in Asia, please contact them directly to see whether they can make an exception to accommodate your circumstance.

Al-Faisal Foundation Scholarship Programme

This scholarship is a partnership between the Al-Faisal Foundation and Middle East Technical University (METU), which is a leading institution in technical education. METU has put its efforts into providing academic opportunities for students with diverse backgrounds and cultures.

The scholarship covers:

• your tuition fees for the duration of your study at METU, including medical insurance
• board and lodging during your studies
• transportation from/to METU, as well as travel expenses to Turkey during exam time in the third semester
• a monthly allowance of 10000 TL (approximately US$ 3200)

Turkish Government Scholarships – Undergraduate and Graduate

The application process is fairly simple, and all you will need to provide is the following:

• Application form (available on the website of the Turkish Embassy in your country)
• A letter of acceptance from a higher education institution in Turkey
• Proof that you have passed certain tests or have completed certain courses at a school or college in your home country
• A copy of the relevant pages of your passport

The successful recipient will be granted free tuition, free medical insurance and a monthly stipend during their studies.
