Top Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program (OGS) Scholarships in Canada for International Students 2022-2023

This grant is offered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It administered by public universities. Awards are available to students in all disciplines of academic study. The program is designed to encourage excellence in graduate studies at the masters and doctoral level. Students can apply for up to three scholarships per year – once as an entering student and once each as a continuing or re-entering student, provided they remain eligible. Each university may select up to three scholarship recipients from all eligible applicants who have indicated their institution as first choice on their application form. Applicants must meet each of the eligibility criteria established by both their university graduate unit and this program if they wish to receive the OGS award. Scholarship recipients are expected to be enrolled full time in an approved research-based program at either the Masters or Doctoral level within one of these institutions during their tenure with this program. There is no provision for part-time study or co-op employment while holding this award. The maximum annual value of an OGS award is $15,000 for one academic session (September 1 – August 31).

It is offered to students in engineering and the natural sciences. This includes social sciences and humanities as well, however, if your thesis involves a significant portion of research in engineering or NSE (natural science and engineering). This fund also has both master’s and doctoral scholarships which can be renewed for up to three years.

As a student entering this program for financial aid you must have supervisor approval first, who must be eligible to hold tri-agency funds. As an international student you must have applied for permanent residency prior to applying for this scholarship.
