Located in the bustling city of Los Angeles, California School of Allied Health & Business is a nonprofit institution that offers Nursing courses. The school has an acceptance rate of 100%, making it one of the most selective schools in Illinois.

According to data provided by NCES College Navigator, 1% of students who attend Cal State LA graduate within 150% of the expected time; this ranks as the #2 fastest-paced program among similar schools in Illinois. The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) also reports that 62% of students who enroll at Cal State LA have not been previously enrolled in college.

2 University of Illinois College of Medicine

The University of Illinois College of Medicine is located in Chicago, Illinois. It is a public school that was founded in 1882. The college offers the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, with an additional emphasis in either family medicine or biomedical research. This program currently has a 12:1 student/faculty ratio and a mean graduate school GPA of 3.6/4.0. Candidates must have at least three years’ worth of undergraduate coursework to be considered for admission into this program

The University offers an accelerated route for students who already possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution but do not wish to pursue another four years’ worth of advanced study before entering medical school; however, these applicants must have completed all prerequisites prior to their enrollment at UICOM-Chicago Campus

Prairie State College offers a variety of nursing programs, including those for LPNs and RNs. The college’s RN to BSN program is designed for those who already have their associate’s degree in nursing but want to further their education and earn their bachelor’s degree. The online coursework covers topics like leadership, healthcare policy and economics, patient care management skills as well as research methods in nursing.

4 College of DuPage – Glen Ellyn, IL

The College of DuPage is a community college with campuses in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Naperville, Illinois. The school offers a variety of degree programs including an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Students can also enroll in the college’s dual degree program if they have already earned an associate’s degree from another school. This system allows students to complete their bachelor’s degrees sooner than expected by taking classes at both colleges simultaneously.

In addition to its nursing program, COD offers many other health science programs such as radiologic technology, respiratory care and cardiovascular technology. 5 Saint Xavier University – Chicago, IL

Saint Xavier University, a private, coeducational, not-for-profit institution, is located in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded as Saint Xavier College in 1846 and offers degrees at the certificate, associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s levels. The university has an open admissions policy. Students can submit their applications to Saint Xavier University online or by mail; the deadline for both submission options is March 1st of each year (unless otherwise noted). Chamberlain University is a private, for-profit university located in Downers Grove, IL. The university offers both online and on-campus programs. Students at Chamberlain can choose from the following degrees:

  • Graduates of UIC’s program can expect to make an average salary of $60,000 per year upon graduation, while those who enter into management positions may earn up to $90,000 per year.
