Sorority University Of Washington
Sorority University Of Washington, or SOUW, is a private liberal arts university located in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1887 as The Queen Anne Baptist Female Seminary by Maryland Baptist missionaries and students, SOUW is one of the few remaining women’s colleges in the United States. Today, SOUW offers over 50 undergraduate degree programs as well as graduate and professional degrees.
History
Sorority University of Washington is a private, not-for-profit university with more than 12,000 alumni. The university was founded in 1894 by eight women from the Delta Gamma sorority.
Today, Sorority University offers over 60 majors and minors in four colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Engineering and Technology, and Nursing. The university also offers a variety of degrees including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees.
The Sigma Kappa sorority has been on the campus since 1895. Today there are six other sororities on campus: Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Zeta Phi Beta, Alpha Delta Pi, Phi Mu Delta, and Chi Omega.
