Housing scholarship
The Southern Utah University Housing Scholarship is awarded to new freshmen, transfer students and current SUU students who are admitted to the university for full-time attendance every semester. Students do not have to be a resident of on-campus housing in order to qualify for this scholarship, but they must pay the equivalent of one semester’s rent in the residence halls. The amount of the Housing Scholarship varies depending on which Residence Hall you live in and your meal plan.
Scholarship money will be first applied toward paying room and board charges. If any money remains after room and board charges are paid, it will then apply to tuition or other fees owed by your account. This money will not be refunded directly to you under any circumstances.
In order for your Housing Scholarship to be applied towards your room and board charges, you must have a complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application on file with SUU’s Financial Aid Office no later than December 1st for spring semesters; May 1st for fall semesters; February 15th for summer semesters; unless otherwise noted at the time of award notification from SUU’s Financial Aid Office.
Purpose
The purpose of the SUU Housing Scholarship is to encourage students to live on campus and contribute to the great atmosphere that we have at Southern Utah University. By living in on-campus housing, students are given more opportunities to get involved in campus life and activities. They also provide residents with an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
