Once you’ve decided to apply for admission to Texas A&M University, the application process is pretty straightforward. To start, you should apply through the ApplyTexas website for freshman applicants. If you have any questions about the admissions process, you can contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office by phone or in person at the admissions office during regular business hours.
The university has a selective admissions policy and accepts roughly 67 percent of all applicants from high schools in Texas and around the country. To be considered for admission, you’ll need to pay an application fee of $75 and make sure that we receive your completed application materials on or before December 1st for fall semester enrollment. We advise that students submit their applications as early as possible because we will typically review applications in order of receipt once they are complete.
If your application is complete, it will be reviewed by our office within three weeks after submission. For your application to be considered complete, we must have received your official high school transcripts (with a minimum grade point average of 3.5), SAT or ACT scores (minimum composite score of 1210), and a letter of recommendation from one of your high school teachers.
The student must be enrolled in an approved undergraduate degree-granting program of at least four consecutive semesters, exclusive of summers.
