The UA employs over 10,000 faculty members who teach over 40 undergraduate degree programs on campus. The university has grown rapidly since its founding in 1885 as Southwestern Normal School, becoming Arizona’s land grant institution after statehood was achieved in 1912 followed by rapid expansion during World War II when it served as a military training center under President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal program called “Works Progress Administration” (WPA). Today it is home to more than 22,000 students representing all 50 states plus Washington D C., Puerto Rico & Guam; making up one fifthth=of all college students within state boundaries!

Flexible Spending Accounts: You can set aside pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to pay for eligible expenses such as medical and dependent care benefits, out-of-pocket healthcare costs, and commuting expenses. The University of Arizona will match the first 3% of salary contributed each year up to $750 per employee. This is in addition to any other compensation provided by the company. A doctor’s note may be required if a request is made for time off due to illness or injury.
