The U-Apply is for students who already know which program they want to enroll in; it allows them to fill out one application and apply to multiple programs. The OUAC is for students who don’t know where they want to go yet; this application will require filling out multiple forms depending on your level of education, what province or territory you’re applying from, and more details that will help determine which programs fit your needs best.

Find how to transfering from another university

If you have taken university-level courses from another institution, you might be able to transfer these credits to the University of Ottawa.

Students studying at other universities can apply to the Université d’Ottawa while on exchange. You must have a letter of acceptance from your home university and one from the Université d’Ottawa.

You need to apply by using the online application system. The deadline is usually in June (mid-July for non-Canadian applicants).

Admission to the University of Ottawa can be done in several ways depending on your situation

You can apply to the University of Ottawa in several different ways, depending on your situation.

If you are a Canadian Student and have been accepted into a recognized college or university program, then you will be advised by your counsellor to apply directly to the University of Ottawa through their Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website. If you are not currently attending an institution, but wish to start at the University of Ottawa as a first-year student, then contact them directly via their admissions office website.

If you are transferring from another post-secondary institution and want to continue your studies at the University of Ottawa within two years after completing your previous studies at another institution within Canada or abroad, then apply through their Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website. This process starts with submitting a request form called an Interchange Form on our Admissions site by May 1st for applicants who wish to transfer during September intake period. You must also complete all required documentation before this date including transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended (including high school), reference letters and other documents such as proof of English language proficiency if needed; see full list here: [link].
