Universities in Scotland without ielts
While a number of universities in Scotland do require the IELTS as part of the application process, there are also several that do not. Below are some of the universities that do not require an IELTS score for acceptance.
The University of Edinburgh does not require a TOEFL or IELTS score from native speakers, but does require a minimum score of 7.0 for non-native speakers.
The University of Glasgow does not require any English test scores if English is your first language, but if English is not your first language they recommend that you have a TOELF iBT score above 100 and an IELTS score above 7.5.
The University of Aberdeen also does not require a TOEFL or IELTS score if you are a native speaker, but if English is your second language they require either a TOEFL iBT score of 90 or an IELTS score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0.
There are a lot of universities in Scotland that don’t require IELTS. Here’s a list of just some of them:
-University of Aberdeen
-University of Dundee
-University of Edinburgh
-University of Glasgow
-University of St Andrews
Applicants must provide proof of their English language proficiency. The universities in question typically require a score of 6.5 on the TOEFL or IELTS exam as an alternative. There are two exceptions to this rule, however: the University of Stirling and the University of Aberdeen. Students who have not taken either exam should contact the university directly for an alternative means to prove their proficiency instead.
