The University of Northern British Columbia

The University of Northern British Columbia is a public university located in Prince George, British Columbia. It was founded in 1965 and offers undergraduate and graduate programs. Brandon University

Brandon University is a public university located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. It was established in 1899 as Brandon College and became an independent degree-granting institution in 2008.

The university has over 5,000 students enrolled in over 50 undergraduate programs at the undergraduate level and 10 graduate programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels. SFU was founded by Tabor Academy in 1965 as a vocational school based in Port Moody and Esquimalt BC. In 1966, it became one of the first post-secondary institutions to be established in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland region; its name commemorates Simon Fraser who explored the region with his expedition on the river named after him: the Fraser River that flows through Vancouver into Burrard Inlet; hence the name “Simon”.
