University Of Arkansas Monticello Baseball
The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team is the baseball program that represents the University of Arkansas at Monticello in UAM Baseball competes in Division II as a member of the Great American Conference; the team plays its home games at Weevils Field on campus. The baseball program was founded in 1921 and has been a member of the GAC since 2011.
The Weevils have won two national championships, one NAIA Championship in 1970, and one NCAA Division II Championship in 1987. They have appeared in seven NAIA Tournaments and five NCAA Tournaments, making three appearances each in both NAIA and NCAA Division II World Series. Six UAM players have gone on to play Major League Baseball (MLB).

- Demetrius Sims – 2015-2016 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
- Derek Simpson – 2013-2014 with the Kansas City Royals.
- Steven Landry – 2012-2013 with the Cincinnati Reds.
- Ryan Ober – 2011-2012 for multiple teams including Boston Red Sox, St Louis Cardinals, and New York Mets. In total he has been traded three times since his career began in 2008 when he was drafted by Atlanta Braves out of high school before returning home to play at UAM Monticello after graduating from high school in 2010.”
UAM Baseball has had a lot of success over its history
UAM Baseball has had a lot of success over its history. The program has won two NAIA World Series titles in 1972 and 1996 and three NCAA Division II national championships, including back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014. UAM also finished as the runner-up in the 2007 National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) to Arizona State University by a score of 6–3.
UAM Baseball may not be the most famous team in the world, but it definitely has some impressive accomplishments under its belt. The Weevils have won three national titles and appeared in seven NAIA Tournaments and five NCAA Tournaments. The program has produced six Major League Baseball players, including one Hall-of-Famer and two All-Stars. That’s a lot of success for such a small school!
