The University of Arkansas–Monticello Boll Weevils football team represents the University of Arkansas–Monticello in college football at the NCAA Division II level. The Boll Weevils play their home games at Litton Field. They are currently led by head coach Marty Fine, who replaced former coach Ronny Feldman after he stepped down following the 2016 season.

The Boll Weevils joined the Southland Conference as a founding member in 1963 and remained members until leaving to play as an independent for one year before joining the Great American Conference in 2011. Prior to this move, UAM had been one of only two members (along with Haskell Indian Nations Fighting Indians) from what is now Division II that were not part of either NCAA Division I or NCAA Division III; though both schools were considered “unaffiliated” with any conference, they have since been accepted into their respective divisions and are no longer unaffiliated.[2] The school has won four national championships (including three NAIA titles), had 15 players selected in NFL drafts,[3] appeared eight times on ESPN College GameDay,[4] hosted ESPN’s College GameDay[5][6] and was featured on MTV’s True Life: Football Town USA episode.[7][8][9]

The University of Arkansas-Monticello football team is known as the Boll Weavils. The name comes from a type of cotton pest that was common in the area during the early years of university history. The Boll Weevils compete in NCAA Division II (as does most of Arkansas’ athletic program) and have been a member of that association since 2000 after previously having been in NAIA since 1996. They play their home games at Golden Lion Stadium which was built in 1967 with an enlarged grandstand added on in 2004, making it one of the oldest venues still being used by teams competing at this level today but also one that has undergone many renovations over its lifetime as well as serving as host site for several state tournaments over those same years including volleyball events where they won seven consecutive titles before finally losing one after winning again five times more between 1988-1995; track & field; softball; baseball; men’s soccer; women’s basketball along with others including cheerleading squads each year during fall semester only due to lack of interest elsewhere around campus due largely in part due mainly because there are so many other things going on concurrently throughout spring semester plus summer break when students aren’t even allowed inside unless they’re visiting professors or staff members needing something done before classes start back up again next fall semester after winter break ends later this month.”

The UAM Boll Weevils Football team is a NCAA Division III program competing in the Great American Conference. The university, founded in 1883, has grown to become one of the largest public institutions in Arkansas. Located just outside Pine Bluff, Monticello was originally established as a Normal School and Teacher’s College with an emphasis on teacher training programs. In 1906, Monticello was renamed after Jefferson Davis’ home state and has since expanded its academic offerings to include graduate programs in business and education as well as undergraduate degrees in over 60 majors including Communications & Media Studies, Biology & Ecology and Human Development & Family Science.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello is located on State Highway 31 between Pine Bluff and McCrory. It’s approximately 90 miles east of Little Rock Airport; 150 miles north of Memphis International Airport; 140 miles west of Tulsa International Airport; 130 miles southeast from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; 275 miles northwest from Houston Hobby Airport; 350 miles south from Jackson-Evers International Airport (JAC); 550+ miles northeast from Dallas Love Field

The University of Arkansas at Monticello was founded in 1906 as Monticello College and began offering athletic programs in 1910. The Boll Weevils were officially named by a vote of students and faculty members on Oct. 5, 1951.

• The Boll Weevils are the athletic teams that represent the University of Arkansas at Monticello in UAM’s Department of Athletics.
• The university sponsors men’s intercollegiate baseball, basketball, football, golf and tennis; women’s volleyball and softball; men’s and women’s soccer; and men’s cross country teams. UAM also has a cheerleading squad for both men and women.
