UCI offers 106 undergraduate degrees and 87 graduate degrees.[3]

The Regents of the University of California established UC Irvine as a teaching and research university on March 3, 1965 with an initial enrollment of 1,000 students.[4] Classes began for its first 26 undergraduates on September 4, 1965 at Santa Ana College.
