The University of Central Oklahoma baseball team’s season came to an end after a 12-8 loss to No. 6 Lindenwood (Mo.) in the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The Lions (32-20) scored nine runs in the first three innings and never looked back, out hitting UCO 18-15 in the loss. The Bronchos (16-26) were ranked No. 1 in the Lone Star Conference and received a first-round bye before falling to Lindenwood (Mo.) 12-8 in game one of their best-of-three series on Wednesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Lindenwood took advantage of UCO’s lineup as they sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored seven runs, which was more than enough for starting pitcher Garrett Halladay who pitched 7 2/3 innings allowing just two earned runs with five strikeouts and four walks allowed.
Lindenwood jumped out to a 8-0 lead after scoring four runs in both the third and fourth innings while taking advantage of some sloppy defense by UCO including three errors that led to five unearned runs being scored during those two innings alone.

In addition, senior Brady Wilkerson went 2 for 5 with four RBIs, junior Luke Garrow went 3 for 5 with two RBIs, and sophomore Josh Hurst had two hits including a double to go along with an RBI.
Rams pitcher Ryan Sullivan went five innings allowing seven hits, three runs and striking out three. The Lions scored early and often in the opening game, breaking out of the gates with five runs in the top of the second inning to take a commanding lead. Baker hit his sixth homerun of the season and drove in two runs while Wilkerson drove in another pair.
