The University of Denver has a long and storied history. The school was founded in 1864 by former Methodist preacher William Fletcher Dalrymple. It’s located in the heart of Denver and is home to over 5,000 students from all over the world.
The campus itself covers 140 acres, boasts 11 residence halls and 13 sports facilities. The University recently opened Magness Arena, a 10,000 seat facility that hosts sporting events as well as concerts by artists like James Taylor (who performed with his band just last year).
The arena is named after Dr. Philip H. Magness who was an economics professor at DU for more than 30 years before he passed away earlier this year at age 92; he played an instrumental role in fundraising efforts needed to build the new arena which cost $200 million dollars to complete its construction project with some help from private donors and foundations such as The Patrinely Foundation

University of Denver Magness Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Denver, Colorado, United States. It is the home of the University of Denver Pioneers ice hockey team and opened on January 12, 1999 with an exhibition game against the University of North Dakota. The facility replaced Amigone Arena (now Magness Arena East), which had been in use since 1953. The naming rights for the arena were sold to Magness Health System for $2 million over 15 years.
During construction, there were many delays that pushed back completion from its original target date of October 1998 to January 1999—the first collegiate ice hockey game held in the venue was played on October 22nd between DU and RPI at Magness Arena East; with both teams skating off into history while being cheered on by fans who were left wondering where they needed to go or if they even had tickets yet!

Each section has its own entrance and concourse area; there are no shared entrances or concourses between sections A-D on levels 1-2 because they’re all located at opposite ends of the arena. Sections E through H are located on level 3 (the upper deck).
