UIUC is a public research university with a strong undergraduate education program. The university is home to more than 100 degree programs and offers classes through its four schools: the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the School of Social Work and Department of Public Health, Applied Health Science & Recreation Management. UIUC also has an extensive research presence on campus with over 80 research centers, including the Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) and Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology (BIAS).

Here are the steps you will need to take to apply to UIUC as an international student:

To apply to UIUC, you must meet basic eligibility requirements. In addition, it is recommended that you decide whether or not you want to apply based on your ACT score and/or your SAT score. To determine if this is the right university for you, we recommend getting in touch with your guidance counselor at school and asking him/her to request an official transcript from the school and a letter of recommendation from him/her or other teachers who know you well.

When all of these steps are completed, feel free to begin filling out the application form!

1. Meet basic eligibility requirements.

To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 18 years old on the first day of classes
• Have a valid passport. If over age 65 you will need to provide proof of age when you pick up your I-20 or DS-2019 form. Please note that a copy of your birth certificate alone is NOT sufficient documentation for this purpose! It must be an official document from your country’s government verifying your age as well as its authenticity. Examples include:
• A driver’s license with photo ID that is at least five years old (driver’s licenses issued within the last three years are not considered valid).
• A national identity card issued by their government with photo ID, date of birth and name which has not expired (must have been issued within three years).
• Birth certificates can also sometimes be accepted if they were issued by an international government agency such as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in order to obtain refugee status internationally or internationally recognized humanitarian protection status; however it should be noted that some countries do not issue birth certificates unless one has resided there prior to turning 18 (e.g., Syria).

2. Decide whether you want to apply based on your ACT score, SAT score, or both. UIUC will accept whichever test score gives you the highest composite score.

You can submit either your SAT or ACT scores, but not both.

If you have both test scores, however, UIUC will take the highest composite score from whichever test(s) you submit.

3. Get in touch with your guidance counselor to request an official transcript and a letter of recommendation from him/her or from other teachers who know you well.

In order to apply for admission, you must submit the following documents:

• A completed application for admission with all required materials listed below. If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form as soon as possible after October 1st of your senior year of high school. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign encourages students to file their FAFSA forms early so that we may more effectively allocate resources to our admitted students who require financial assistance. Please note that it is not necessary that all applicants submit a FAFSA form or other documentation until after being admitted into our program; however, it is recommended that applicants begin this process in order to ensure they receive scholarship opportunities if awarded one by the university or through external sources (e.g., family members’ employers).
• Official transcripts from each postsecondary institution attended (including international institutions). If any college coursework was taken while still enrolled in high school, please have your official transcript sent directly from the high school(s) attended

4. Submit your application and pay the fee.

The application fee is $80 for domestic students ($100 for international students). You can pay the application fee online using a credit card or e-check.

You can also submit your official transcript and test scores with your application, but they must be mailed directly to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign by the issuing agency.

5. Find out if you are eligible for a scholarship or financial aid for studying abroad in the U.S., such as merit-based scholarships, diversity visas, tuition waivers or travel grants for international students.

• Diversity visas (also known as green cards) that allow foreigners who meet certain qualifications an opportunity to apply for permanent residency within the country;
• Tuition waivers offered by some institutions allowing them free access to classes on campus or online courses;
• Travel grants from organizations such as Fulbright Foundation whose mission is helping people from different countries learn about one another through cultural exchange programs like this one!
