The University of Kentucky football program will host a slew of talented athletes on Saturday, as players from a variety of sports are scheduled to visit Lexington for the Wildcats’ game against Eastern Michigan.

The list includes:

  • NFL players Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Antonio Brown;
  • NBA stars James Harden and Anthony Davis;
  • Major League Baseball All-Stars Jose Altuve, Mookie Betts, Mike Trout and Aaron Judge;
  • NHL MVP Taylor Hall;

2 The list includes a pair of players who have made pledges to stay in state and play their college football at UK.

Elijah Bell and Justin Brown, two of the top high school football players in Kentucky, have made pledges to stay in state and play their college football at UK.

Bell is a wide receiver from Lexington Catholic who committed to North Carolina earlier this month. He is rated as one of the top 10 receivers in the country by 247Sports.com. He also had offers from Florida State and LSU.

Brown is an offensive tackle from Pulaski County who committed to Wake Forest on Sunday night on Twitter after his official visit to Winston-Salem last weekend. He had been committed to Kentucky since July but reopened his recruitment recently because he said he wanted more information before making a decision on where he will play next year.”

3 Also, expect to see several other prospects who are currently committed elsewhere on campus this weekend.

  • UK is hosting a variety of prospects this weekend, including several players who have made pledges to stay in state and play their college football at Kentucky. A pair of those players, linebacker Everette Brown (6-3, 215) from Central Gwinnett High School (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and defensive end Chris Braswell (6-5, 240) from West Mecklenburg High School (Charlotte), made official visits on Thursday.
  • Also expected on campus this weekend is standout cornerback Cody Quinn (5-11 1/2 , 185 pounds), who committed to Kentucky on Monday after previously pledging to play his college career at North Carolina State University.

Kentucky will host a slew of talented recruits during its home game against Eastern Michigan this weekend. While the Wildcats already have commitments from four-star defensive end Josh Paschal (DT, South Carolina) and three-star running back Tervain Jacobs (RB, Louisville), they’re looking to add more bodies to their class. Here’s a list of all the recruits who are expected to be in attendance at Kroger Field on Saturday:

  • 4-star wide receiver Demetrius Robertson – Alabama commit
  • 4-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman – Clemson commit
  • 4-star cornerback Giovanni Burns – Florida State commit
  • 3-star safety Jonathan Gipson – Louisville commit
  • 3-star linebacker Jordan Jones – Kentucky commit

6 Among the visitors is three-star wide receiver Elijah Bell, who has been committed to North Carolina for more than six months, but has been expressing interest in other programs in recent weeks.

Elijah Bell is a wide receiver prospect from Lexington, Kentucky. He’s 6’5″ and 195 pounds. He has been committed to North Carolina since February.

Among the visitors is three-star wide receiver Elijah Bell, who has been committed to North Carolina for more than six months, but has been expressing interest in other programs in recent weeks.

The Wildcats are also expected to host four-star defensive end Mario McKinley (6-5/230), who decommitted from Louisville on Thursday morning after his former teammate Drew Bailey was dismissed from the program; four-star cornerback Jaden Wright (6-0/170); four-star quarterback Spencer Rattler (6-1/195); three-star linebacker Darian Kinnard (6-2/210); three star linebacker Marcus Walker(5’10/195); and 2020 prospect Tyler Cummins(6’3/280).

7 Bell has offers from more than 20 schools, including Tennessee, Louisville and Indiana.

Kentucky’s most notable commitment is to North Carolina, which came six months ago. He has more than 20 offers from schools such as Tennessee, Louisville and Indiana. He’s also been expressing interest in programs like Duke and Syracuse recently.

In mid-January, Bell told SEC Country that UK would be at the top of his list even if he decided not to sign with UNC.

8 According to Bell (@ElijahBell_7), he’s “Just visiting” this weekend and “Not committing or decommitting or anything like that lol.”

This is a good thing for Kentucky football, as they would love to have the talented running back in their class. They have been pursuing Bell since last summer, and they have been very active in trying to get him on campus. He has yet to visit Lexington once, but he has been in contact with Coach Stoops and company throughout the process.

9 Another in-state prospect who has committed elsewhere is three-star offensive tackle Justin Brown (@therealjustinb7). Brown pledged to Wake Forest on Wednesday after receiving an offer from coach Dave Clawson (@CoachClawson) and his staff earlier that week.

Justin Brown is a three-star offensive tackle from Lexington, Kentucky. He has committed to Wake Forest over offers from more than 20 schools, including Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina. The 6-foot-5, 290 pound prospect is the son of former Kentucky basketball player Rex Chapman and was recruited by Wildcats assistant coach Mark Stoops (@CoachStoops).

Closing

The list of prospects that will be in attendance at this weekend’s game is extensive. The Wildcats have already been able to build up a significant number of commitments for the Class of 2020. And, as we saw with Bell and Brown, there could be more than just those two players who decide to decommit from their current schools in favor of Kentucky after Saturday’s visit.
