The Graduate School offers more than 90 master’s degree programs in fields such as business administration, public health and health policy, engineering, education leadership, interior design/architecture, criminal justice/criminology; social work; agricultural sciences; information science & technology; veterinary medicine (Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine). The graduate school also offers doctoral degrees in education leadership and criminal justice/criminology.

The Graduate School of the University of Kentucky is proud to announce the winner of the 2020 Young Scholars Competition, an annual program that awards a $20,000 grant to early-career scholars who plan to conduct innovative research at UK.
The competition was open to all current students in a master’s degree program or doctoral program within one year from completion of coursework and who have not previously received any other major award from UK’s Graduate School. Applicants were asked to submit their research proposal as well as evaluations from three faculty members who had agreed to be contacted for references. The four finalists each gave an oral presentation during a panel discussion held on May 14th at the Patterson Office Tower Auditorium on UK’s campus in Lexington, KY. After deliberation by judges and administrators, Dr. Cristina Gomes’ proposal was selected for this year’s prize.”

The Graduate School has announced its 2020 Distinguished Dissertation Award recipients. The award is given to graduate students who have completed a thesis or dissertation and who demonstrate exemplary scholarship in their field of study.
The recipients of the 2020 awards are:
- Jessica Mears, PhD in Health Sciences – Neuroscience—Behavioral Neuroscience Graduate Program
- Lauren A. Strohacker, MA in Arts & Humanities – Art History Graduate Program
