The Patient Portal is a secure, online tool that gives you access to your personal health information. Once you create an account, you can:

View test results and make appointments online

Download your medical records (with some limitations)

You also have the ability to access your information from any location in the world at any time zone. This feature is especially useful if you are traveling and need to check up on your health status.

You will be taken to the MyChart Select or UMG EpicCare Link login page.

You can access your information from any computer or mobile device. You can use MyChart Select or UMG EpicCare Link. If you have an account in both systems, the same username and password will work for both.

  • MyChart Select is the new patient portal for UMHealth physicians and other medical staff members at all three campuses of University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).
  • UMG EpicCare Link is a new patient portal that patients enrolled in UMHealth’s Group Health plan may use to access their health information online. They can also communicate with their doctors through secure messaging, which allows them to ask questions about their care directly from home or work as well as schedule appointments online 24/7 using our secure calendar tool known as “My Schedule”.

You will be taken to the MyChart Select or UMG EpicCare Link login page. Or, you can also log in using your MyUofMHealth Chart credentials.

Once you verify your information and accept the terms and conditions, your account will be created. You can then access your health information online and choose to receive notifications from your doctor, pharmacy or other providers.

To create a patient portal account:

  • Click on “Patient Portal” at the top-right corner of any UMMC website page.
  • Enter your date of birth in the field provided. If you’re under 13 years old or don’t know it yet, select “Don’t Know.”
  • Enter all of the required personal information (name, address, etc.). If any fields are missing, select “Don’t Know.” This information is used only to help us send important communications to you faster and easier than ever before!

You can also log in using your MyUofMHealth Chart credentials.

If you have a MyChart account, you can log in using your MyChart username and password. If you don’t have a MyChart account, or if your email address has changed since you last used it to sign into UMG EpicCare Link, please contact the Patient Access team at 410-328-8222 (option 1).

If your company uses UMG EpicCare Link for employee health records and benefits administration services (including Open Choice), then you may also use your UMG EpicCare Link username and password to log in here.

Medical information is shared between the two systems, so either choice will allow you to access information from both MyChart (UMMC) and UMG EpicCare Link (UMG).

  • UMG EpicCare Link is the University of Maryland Medical Group’s patient portal. Both are designed to give you access to your medical information, but each system has its own features and capabilities, so be sure to check them out before making a decision.
