The J.D. program requires three years to complete, beginning with an intensive summer session that also satisfies admission requirements for most other graduate schools or professional school programs such as medicine and business administration; students who already hold an undergraduate degree may be able to complete the three prerequisite courses within 12 months by following an accelerated program designed specifically for them; this option allows students to take their first year classes during fall semester instead of over two summers as part of their fourth year curriculum requirements which gives them more options for elective courses during their fifth year when they must choose between taking either an internship course or completing specialized research project under faculty guidance; incoming students who do not have sufficient scores on standardized exams required by other graduate schools may be required to take additional foundational courses before starting their coursework at UI-LAW – this can delay completion time significantly so make sure you plan ahead!

The Juris Doctor Program requires 88 credits for graduation including 42 upper division law school credits divided into 4 semesters with 2 classes per semester plus completion of all skills courses before enrollment into upper division courses. Students must also complete 12 prerequisite courses prior to enrolling in any law school coursework; these courses include 6 hours each in business analytics (BIOL 508), financial accounting principles (ACCT 510), microeconomics workbook I (ECON 520) or macroeconomics workbook I (MICR 523), managerial economics workbook I (ECON 521 or MICR 522), managerial finance workbook I (FINC 525) or personal finance workbook I(FINC 526).
