For generations, UNE has been educating the next generation of nurses.

For generations, UNE has been educating the next generation of nurses. Our School of Nursing prepares students for advanced practice in psychiatric-mental health, family and community health, adult nurse practitioner, pediatric nurse practitioner and the Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program. We have been a leader in nursing education since our founding in 1957, with continually expanding opportunities for our graduates.

UNE is also a leader in nursing research. Our Master’s Degree Program affords you an opportunity to work closely with one of our faculty members on a thesis that addresses an important healthcare issue or problem within your field of expertise. Many UNE nursing graduates have received funding from NIH (National Institutes of Health), CDC (Centers for Disease Control) or other government agencies to conduct research projects related to their graduate studies at UNE.

UNE is located on the coast of Maine, a place that provides inspiration for our work.

UNE is located in Biddeford, Maine, just south of Portland. We’re a university that values entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity. This can be seen through our students who work on internships at local businesses or faculty who collaborate with industry to make education more relevant.

In addition to being located near a major city, Maine also provides excellent resources for research. We have access to the ocean for conducting marine science studies as well as mountains for studying geology. Plus we’re located near Acadia National Park which has miles of trails that are perfect for walking or running when you need some exercise after class!

Portland is a great place to visit, with plenty of activities and places to explore. The city is home to the Portland Museum of Art, which houses an impressive collection of American paintings from the 18th through 21st centuries; there’s also the Old Port District where you can enjoy some shopping or just walk along the waterfront. If you like food, then you might want to try one of the many excellent restaurants such as Eventide Oyster Co., Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse or Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House. For something different, check out Stumptown Coffee Roasters or Nosh Kitchen Bar for some tasty treats that are sure not disappoint!

We offer live-cam views of the campus and some of our research labs.

A lot of our students love to capture life on campus, whether it’s in the classroom, lab or library.

The College of Osteopathic Medicine is leading the way in teaching and research.

The College of Osteopathic Medicine is the largest and most diverse of its kind in the country. The College of Osteopathic Medicine is a leader in teaching and research, providing graduate medical education programs to over 1,600 students annually. The College offers two medical degree tracks: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The DO program is 36 months long while the PhD program takes 48 months to complete due to an additional year dedicated exclusively toward research training at UNE’s Center for Pain Research & Education.

Our curriculum provides opportunity for direct patient care experiences as well as clinical rotations that allow students access to both community-based settings as well as major hospitals such as Maine Medical Center – Maine’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. Our faculty includes full time faculty with specialties ranging from Family Medicine; General Surgery; Pediatrics; Psychiatry/Behavioral Science; Oncology/Hematology/Transplantation; Obstetrics/Gynecology; Emergency Medicine including Sports Injury Care Management Program; Radiation Oncology including Nuclear Cardiology & PET Imaging Services which perform both diagnostic imaging procedures or provide specialized services within their discipline area such as treatment planning or image interpretation using advanced technology tools like SPECT scans etc., Orthopaedics including Hand Surgery – Sports Medicine Program which focuses on surgery related injuries such as tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), carpal tunnel syndrome resulting from repetitive motion injuries affecting nerves that innervate hand muscles allowing them movement control during gripping activities such as playing piano keys while having strong enough grip strength required when lifting heavy objects without losing grip strength due inability caused by nerve damage leading away from wrist

Our students come from many different places and bring their unique perspectives with them.

At the University of New England, we have a diverse student body that is drawn from all over the world.
