The University of Northern British Colombia is a public university located in northern British Colombia. The university was founded in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of three institutions, each with its own history and traditions. Today, UNBC has grown to over 13,000 students and 800 faculty members across five campuses: Prince George, Terrace, Quesnel (opened September 2015), Cranbrook (opened September 2017), and Mackenzie River Institute (opened 2016).
