You must be first-time, full-time freshman student to qualify. The award is based on academic achievement and will be granted to those with a 3.5 GPA.

This award is based on academic achievement.

Freshman students who are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at the University of Portland and have completed their coursework with a GPA of 3.5 or higher from an accredited homeschool program can apply for this award. Applicants must also apply by November 15, 2019.

You must be first-time, full-time freshman student to qualify.

  • You must be a first-time, full-time freshman student.
  • You must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student during the entire 2016–2017 academic year (fall and spring semesters).
  • If you were previously enrolled in college but did not complete your first term of enrollment, your “first time” status is forfeited for that year. Your reenrollment does not qualify as your first time at UOP if it occurs before receiving the Presidential Scholarship award for that academic year.* For purposes of this program, one academic year begins on the fall semester start date and ends on the following summer semester start date; two consecutive terms including summer school may be required for successful completion of coursework resulting from transfer credits earned during each term.* New students are those who never attended UOP prior to enrolling at their current level of study at UOP.

You must apply by November 15 if you want to be considered for this award.

The University of Portland Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious award that can cover up to 50% of your tuition. If you are accepted, you will also be eligible for additional scholarships and grants for your remaining tuition. You must apply by November 15 if you want to be considered for this award. The application is available from November 1 through January 3. It can be found on the University of Portland website under “Admissions” and then “Apply Now” on the right-hand side of the page or in its entirety at http://www.updxavier.edu/applynow/.

The application process consists of two parts—a written essay and an interview conducted by a member of USFSP’s Admissions Team at one of our satellite locations around California (see list below).

Your high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores, and completed application are required for consideration.

To be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, you must have completed your high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores, and a completed application by April 1st.

An applicant must have been recommended by a high school official or teacher who is knowledgeable about his or her academic record. The recommendation letter should describe in detail why you are qualified to receive this scholarship and what you can bring to our community upon graduation.

The requirement will be waived for students that have completed their coursework with a GPA of 3.5 or higher from an accredited homeschool program.

If you are a homeschooled student who has earned their high school diploma with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, your application will be considered complete and no further documentation is required.

This award is renewable for up to four years provided you maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in your studies at the University of Portland and remain enrolled as a full-time student.
