In addition to our medical education programs in Houston, Galveston and the Rio Grande Valley, we also operate 12 clinics throughout Texas. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston was established in 2014, through the merger of UTHealth-Houston and Baylor College of Medicine.

A few miles away from UTHealth’s main campus is another medical school: The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). This facility was founded by Abraham Flexner after his famous report on medical education in 1910.

UTHealth is also a major component of the Texas Medical Center (TMC), one of the world’s largest medical complexes. The TMC is home to more than 100 hospitals and medical institutions that provide care for more than 2 million patients annually.
