The University of the Cumberlands baseball team got its start in 2010. That year, Head Coach Donnie Miller and his team of players started practicing together as a team. They played their first official game in 2011, and won by a score of 10-2.
Since then, the team has undergone many changes, but they have always remained committed to their goals. Led by Players such as Cody Owen, Levi Kavanagh and Beau Adams, the team has continued to improve each season. In 2017, they reached the quarterfinals of the NAIA World Series, where they lost to Lindsey Wilson College.
At the beginning of this season, the team had lofty goals for themselves. They wanted to win the conference title and qualify for the NAIA playoffs. However, in their latest game against Missouri Baptist University, they ended up falling short by a score of 5-4. Nevertheless, Coach Miller believes that his players are still working hard and gaining valuable experience that will help them when they reach their ultimate goal: playing at the collegiate level.
