- Fall Semester: September 1 – December 31st – 12 weeks = 4 months, 36 days (3 months x 14 weeks) + 3 days = 48 days total for fall, 1 month remaining for spring;
- Spring Semester: January 1 – April 30th – 12 weeks = 4 months, 36 days (3 months x 14 weeks) + 4days remaining;
- Summer Session I: May 1 – June 25th – 5 weeks = 2 months 20 days total (2 months x 10weeks);
- Summer Session II: July 2nd – August 26th – 7weeks = 29 days remaining of summer semester I including all weekends so 51 days in total;
Less than full-time graduate tuition and fees will be charged on a per credit hour basis for students taking less than 9 credit hours at Western Kentucky University.
If you are a graduate student, your tuition and fees will be charged based on the credit hours you take in a term. Undergraduate students pay full-time tuition rates whether they are taking 9 or 18 credits per term, but graduate students may only take up to 9 credits and must pay per credit hour if they are taking more than this amount. If you’re not sure how many credits to take for your program, check with your advisor before registering for classes.
In addition to tuition and fees, all full-time students also have access to Western’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) which provides coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS).
