The program aims to ensure that all high school graduates in the city have access to a post-secondary education.

This scholarship is unique in that it’s not aimed solely at students who plan to attend a post-secondary institution within Winnipeg. Instead, it aims to ensure that all high school graduates from the city have access to a post-secondary education wherever they choose to study.

The program is funded by the city and administered by the University of Winnipeg.

In order to receive the scholarship, students must commit to enrolling full-time in a post-secondary institution within two years of graduating high school.

Second, ensure that you will be a full-time student during every year that you apply for the scholarship. You do not need to attend an institution in Manitoba as long as it is located within Canada’s borders. Third, make sure you enroll within two years of graduating high school. You may choose to wait longer than two years, but if so, you will not receive assistance from this scholarship program.

Finally, know that we will continue to give $1,000 per year for up to four years after graduation. However, if your family makes more than $50,000 per year (after taxes), then you will only receive $500 each year. Also note that this fee can change at any time without notice as our committee sees fit; please check our website often for updates about this scholarship and its regulations!

The exemption application form is available on the Manitoba Student Aid website. A medical professional must complete this form and submit it along with their proof of registration with MCHP to Manitoba Student Aid before any consideration can be given.
