In 1925, the name was changed to Xavier University of Louisiana and St. Katherine’s High School became Xavier Prep (in 1995 it became coeducational). The original campus was on Esplanade Avenue at North Rampart Street. In 1927, the elementary and secondary schools were moved to a 50-acre (200,000 m2) tract known as “Bunkie” in Gentilly; it is now part of Lusher Charter School’s campus.[citation needed]
